Bloody hell, that's nearly a 1000 a month! I'm not saying how many I've shot, far too embarrassing, needless to say, as I've commented on here a few times, I've never had such a poor shooting year. I come from the same neck of the woods as you and I haven't even seen enough pigeons to get a quarter of what you got, let alone shoot them. pigeon controller Posted November 8, 2014 Report Share Posted November 8, 2014 Well done with your tally , what cartridges and chokes do you shoot for these distance birds ? during the harvest shooting with the stubble do you not get the birds to come close in on the decoys or do you always shoot at distance as they come towards the decoys? Not doubting you for a second but you would have done yourself a favour if you'd regularly posted your outings like PC does, then you wouldn't leave yourself open to doubters. I think most on PW would agree that PC is "The Man" for consistently making big bags but even his achievements are dwarfed by that tally (I think?) It does not quite work like that though , I normally shoot 2-1 or a little better , sometimes a little worse , so what I get back for the pigeon generally pays for the cartridges. So if you are a decent shot then you dont need to be rich to shoot a lot of pigeons but you do crows ! 250 a month for 4 months is going some though ! A lot depends how many times you are out each week if shooting 4 or 5 days a week at 25 per day average then thats 100 + pew week so if the birds are around it is not impossible .... but you would have to be consistent .... If the guy is a bit of a Walter Mitty who cares.!! I wouldn't say i'm obsessed with trying to shoot big bags, but that's what i aim for. I imagine a lot of pigeon shooters are the same.
