Missed Fox

Recommended Posts

Sat out tonight in a high seat with the .243 using 100grain soft points. Zeros at 100 yards.

Fox appeared 15 - 20 yards to my left in under a tree with small leaved branches before it.

Put the cross hairs middle body behind the shoulder.

Do you think small branches or the 100yard zero could be enough of a factor to miss?

Probably just looking for an excuse as dont want to own up to the faced that I probably did just missed!

Cheers chaps

Going to stick my neck out here.

I thought most rifles tend to have a first zero about the 25-30m mark? (obviously will depend on loads of things scope hieght, calibre, bullet wieght etc) So bullet starts lower but rising, passes 'zero line' and will start to fall and pass ur 'zero line'/point of aim

Best way is go out with ur rifle and set a target up at 15m and see where it is, possibly play about with some other ranges too
