wader repairs

Don't know if this topic has been done. Now up to 3 pairs of neoprene chest waders hanging up all split boots (ron Thompson, snowbee, diawa)

looked online came up with glues Bostik 2402 / stormprene / evode 8000

not sure if the tape around the top of the boot is neoprene but seen some 40mm sold by metre.

may seem a bit of a task but am getting through a pair a season thought if I could make some up for non wading days may get a longer life from new ones,

Anyone tried this?

seem to be on the wrong line with some of this. I am on about cutting the boot away leaving the neoprene sock and putting a whole new boot on the waders. The stormsure stuff is great for leaks I've used it on neoprene, not on about holes, but splits in the where it bends when walking

thanks for all input.

Aquasure!

Great stuff, keep it in the freezer once opened! You can if you wait just long enough spread it with a wetted finger to smooth the edges own etc.

Waders don't last unless you rarely go, saltwater and such kills them. I don't wear chesties much now unless totally required preferring thigh boots and waterproof over trousers for sitting.

Well I had some sealant in the shed called tiger seal I used to use it in the motor trade and it sticks like **** to a blanket it's that good I sealed a hole in my sump in the l200 with it so I am hoping it works but I will let you no how I get on

Tiger bond-pannel adhesive works a treat. I'm tight and won't buy new waders unless I really have to,so far tiger bond worked best, well better than rubber glue, fixafix, superglue, mastic, silicone, aqua queen and so on.

I think you would be struggling to reattach a pair of boots to the neoprene without leaks with what ever you use .

Blackwitch is the stuff Diverdave recommends for neoprene repairs. Are boots not stitched on to the legs and then the join covered with tape? I know Diverdave can replace stocking feet to waders but not sure about boots. Check out his website. What he doesn't know about repairs is not worth knowing.
