firstly can I just say I personally think your choice of calibre would be better as .177,

when night shooting it is very difficult to judge distance and by using a .177 with it having a flatter trajectory there is less room for error,

I have used both guns be it in .22 , the hatsan is a cracking rifle for the money but in my opinion I much prefer the new rotex, its a smooth little rifle and although a little front heavy I have to say I was very impressed with it considering how much they cost,

buying a .177 Rotex is difficult as my shooting buddy found out,he had one on order for months, paid for it in cash and the rfd could not get one anywhere,

good luck with whatever you choose as to be honest they are both budget pcp,s but the Rotex feels better built and cycles beautifully

Cheers evo, I am leaning towards the Rotex and yeah I would love one in .177 but seems like a impossible task at the moment I know what you mean about them being a budget gun but just want a nice solid beast for night time activities shooting will be off bipod and static!

Dont know if its just me but the action reminds me of the old Super 10's!

yes mate you are correct, have to be honest but if you really want a work horse then depending on your budget I would personally go for the AA s410 second hand, they have stood the test of

time accurate as hell and very reliable or even spend a bit more and go for the HW100 which is an awesome piece of kit,

but for £399 NEW the Rotex r8 is excellent value for money but time will tell if they are reliable

Right guys I have made up my mind..

I was talking with a gunsmith today about the Rotex and he said it is unbeatable for the price, super smooth and accurate which seems to be the common attitude to this gun.. he also said he had worked on many AT44's and found them to be of poor quality and the Rotex would be a better choice!

So im going to hang out for the .177 to start coming to the party and snap one of these lovely little beastie's up..

Lets be honest there is no point compairing these to hw100's and I like and splitting hairs on metals used! for the buck I really dont think these can be beaten and im happy as a chimp up a banana tree waiting for one to come my way

I will post back on here of my veiews when ive had a play and stuck a tin or so of lead through her

But for now ive just got to wait for the .177 train to come
