I've just had a phone call from a mate, said he as just acquired a s/h Air Arms 510 super lite carbine(immaculate) condition. he already uses a hw 100. and would I be interested.

I don't know the gun! any thoughts please. Anyone have one, and what are they like? This one is .22.

I know I asked for your thoughts, ultimately I'll make up my own mind, but a heads up is always welcome.

Cheers

Steve

Smashing guns. I love the side action on it and they are fantastically light and manoeuvrable. I used to have one and out of all the guns I've used and then sold on, it's the S510 I miss the most. shoot really well and very very accurate. They do need a silencer - they mught have a shroud on them but it's not fooling anyone.

If i was to get another gun, I'd go for one of those over the HW100 any day of the week. personal choice and all, but i think it's a cracker

:)

Nothing wrong with the 510, although not many complain about the 410 either.

The question is really, do you have a need for it, nothing is a deal/snip if you don't want it!

Got a HW 97k and a old 'BSA' Hornet , so do I need it? probably no, as I will more than likely use it for ferrals in the farm buildings, but what I have does that. I also have a .17hmr .22rimmie .222 and half a dozen shotguns. But I've never had any sense, and needing it and wanting it is two different things (you can never be under gunned in my mind):lol:

Thanks for the words of wisdom though.

personal opinion is get rid of ya 97k and your hornet and buy the s510 superlite, excellent rifle ,very accurate but will certainly do the business around the farm,,

but it depends how much he wants for it ? can I ask ?

as chris said a decent mod is required but they really are a fantastic air rifle

  • 2 weeks later...

Evo, As promised albeit a bit late. been out with the s510 carbine and well impressed with the accuracy.

The gun is immaculate as stated, with walnut stock. Comes with Hard case, camo gun slip, sling, scope, divers bottle and attachments

and a couple of mags, Also already fitted with a mod.

I've already told my mate I'd have it, as it works for me.

Your n/v fits on the scope (bonus) And he said I could have it for what he paid for it, which was £450

You asked what he wanted in one of your posts, so I thought I'd reply. your thoughts? :)

Sorry Chris, I thought it wasn't a bad price although I hadn't bought an air rifle for years.

That's why I hit his hand off. cheers mate for making my day though.
