michufc
My friend had one of these when we were young and it didn't live long as it got a cold and died if I remember is that normal. Such a shame as it was brilliant to see in work

loriusgarrulus
They don't ever wing clip them as youngsters do they as I know in parrots this can lead to poor development and later heart problems. That's why my parrots are fully flighted.

loriusgarrulus
No don't clip there wings she will be working Not now I mean as a weanling. Some people do parrots initially as they think it helps with bonding. Something I have never subscribed to as I think it stunts development and confidence. Berettacocker
A week or so I have worked with her a few times. She is all ready to work just man her up to me for a week. I think they are on with cold but when they get a bit older they have weeker hearts so I have read and been told no reason why your Harris won't live to a ripe old age. It's not cold which kill birds in captivity, it leaving them in draughty conditions, which is deadly. And clipping birds wings is to stop them flying, no other reason. michufc
It was a real shame with my friends hawk he did everything the chap told him to do with regards to enclosures but we were only young then I am talking 16 ish he was hoping to work it over his terriers eventually but we never got the chance and didn't get another one after that
loriusgarrulus
I love to see them fly nothing better than to see a train hawk coming in.
