What's the strangest item you've picked up whilst wildfowling ? I was out this morning on the wash waded out to my chosen spot settled in for a rough morning with the tide around my knees had a nice pair of mallard , pinks just wide again , on the walk back to the sea wall I picked up a yearling bass which was just about expired but gills just moving so I picked him up and layed it in a creek it was off like a shot then realised I should of taken a photo

Had a 10lb cod left trapped in a creek after a big tide once , a mate salvaged a boat he stumblled over on morning and sold it on Ebay and I once found an amo box on the Wash. Called the police out , but they could not find it so I had to take then to it the next morning. They were not very happy as they only had plods boots on and had to cross a couple of muddy Wash Creeks. They were in a hell of a mess when we got back and the amo locker was emply in the end.

A mate shot a sea trout on the solway when walking back after flight and later in the week stumbled over a dead sheep. Not to be out done a few weeks later on the N Norfolk coast had a dead pilot whale drift up my creek and got stranded when the tide turned.

Not fowling but taking the dogs along the beach doing some retrieves with my dog, spotted a fish laying on the sand got upto it and it was a nice whiting around two three pounds, got stranded as the surf went out. Thought yum lunch sorted, wife made me put it back as it was alive and it swam straight off.

Couldn't believe I let it go but was getting a right lug hole full off her for wanting to eat it. Did get some brownie points :good:
