Over the last couple of weeks I've been very close but not close enough for a shot at my Favourite goose the Whitefront. Out this Saturday morning with my regular fowling partner and very good mate. Having both shot Pinks and not paying attention a party of Geese had sneaked unseen or heard from behind seeing us they split into two groups of approximately 12-15 birds one lot flaring back the other around the side and arking around our front.

At one point I thought they was going to come right over us but kept to our right and was going to offer a long shot. Saying to my mate take em I was well chuffed when his single shot speed true and well and truly stuffed a Goose and it gave great pleasure to hand him a Fantastic example of a European Whitefront which was a first for him in the county we was shooting. Hopefully as they have been around for the last two weeks more chances will arise another special goose was seen a Leucistic Pink

I took some photos but can't load them onto here for some reason.

I'll be the Gentleman I am and let my mate shoot it when the chance comes as I've shot 4 in my time.

I wouldnt Question the fact that you are a Gentleman' Its possible you took my post up wrong.

It was a lighthearted post and Not a direct Question,i was more generalising.

If you have the read the story "which im sure you have" you will know Manka was a sought after goose from Norfolk,Essex to the Solway ect

Im sure manys a Fowler would be keen to shoot such a goose and Consider it a personal Challenge to bag it..I know I would.

Out of interest' did you have the ones you Shot "Sett up"..? or give them to a natural history museum or similar,..I reckon they would be scarce enough and it would be a nice but costly Bird to get sett up.
