If I remember correctly I think he was shown his cards by the Mods

Is he still up in Orkney?

I saw him recently in his old Discovery and seen him walking about but didn't get a chance to speak,I'm sure he's still getting out for a shot too.

Spoke last week, he's doing alright and yes he was kicked off PW

My mate has been with rob Frampton for the last 3 seasons. He has said hes very Inexperienced and they hardly got any shots and not many geese. And most mornings they didnt even see geese. I was thinking to go with him next year but now that ive been told the Information im not gonna waste my money. Just thought i would leave my feed back with you guys.

I think even with the best preparation you can still blank. There are so many variables, even guides can get it wrong through no fault of their own. To be fair to Mr Frampton, I haven't met him so can't comment on his operation, but why would your mate use him three times if he consistently couldn't get you under the geese?

Hi Ross

My mate gave him the benefit of the doubt. He even went to cancel on my mate because he had important BASC guests going to shoot at the sametime and he wanted to look good for them. I agree with you Ross you can have blank days and bad days. My mate is no stranger to shooting and he was meant to guide them he would point to ware he wanted them to go and left them to it.

I think I'd be miffed enough after two trips. And that's no way to run a business, cancelling if double booked - your mate has a lot of patience!

We usually stay with a mate of mine (Polestar) but his health isn't great, so we shoot on his land a bit, and the rest of the time just ask at farms where the geese are feeding. For instance, on our last trip we asked one farmer (sadly deceased, Eoin Scott) who had about 500 greylags on his stubble, and he literally said "of course, of course please do come and shoot them", and that's more or less what everyone says. You can always have a day's fishing on the Welcome Home if you have nothing on. We had a fantastic day on that boat, probably came home with £100 worth of fish for £30 cost of the trip. There's plenty of rabbits, snipe, hare, pheasant and some grouse if you can get permission for a roughshoot. And the trout fishing's free...then there's the neolithic sites, museums etc...

this is the biggest load of rubbish iv heard and believe your a rival guide up in Orkney or possibly friends with one inexperienced not sure how you work that out iv been up to orkney with rob 4 years on the run for the 11/12 and 12/13 seasons i was up there for 4 weeks picking up for him with the dogs not once did i witness one blank morning or evening flight in the whole 4 years iv been up there iv seen one blank flight and that was down to 60mph winds and driving snow or maybe your mistaking rob with certain other guides up there because this sounds like the stuff they do

again this is more lies due to what i believe for the same reason above not once have i ever seen rob point someone in a direction and left them to it as you say rubbish and does not happen if rob conducted his business this way do you really think he would be completly booked up for following season before the one were in has finished i dont think so as for double booking again certain guides up there do get upto them tricks 4 groups of guns and 2 guides to take them

Only been the once and got to say rob works his backside off during the flights to ensure as much sport as possible

Don't forget these are wild birds but to me if and when I go again it will be with rob

iv helped rob out in the past the work that goes in is huge i was wrecked after 4 weeks off it

Hi Ian,

To be fair, if a guide in can't get his guns under geese in Orkney, he can't do it anywhere! As I said, I don't know Rob Frampton, so can't comment on his skills as a guide, I was just commenting on what the other poster said. I'm sure Mr Frampton knows his trade very well.

As a side note, Orkney goose guides seem to be multiplying year on year. I know the greys are a pest there but they'll soon be shot out.
