A Call From The DEFRA Man....

With a shooting friend back from uni I had planed a trip on some ground we don't shoot often.

Just as I was setting off my phone was buzzing on the dashboard with his number flashing, so I pulled up and have a chat, it is always good to speak to him and with him traveling to Essex in the morning the pressure was on....

His first port of call is to RB's and with a tally of 3, I was up to beat that...!!

After each one fell I sent him a message with the last reply saying ! "my van is not that big".

They are sent away for testing of Trichinella plus other tests.

A tally of nine since Friday, I have posted these to high light what is done to keep a check on any areas with potential problems.

What's "Call from the DEFRA man" mean?

:shaun:

His first port of call is to RB's ( Robert Bucknell) and with a tally of 3, I was up to beat that...!!

After each one fell I sent him a message with the last reply saying ! "my van is not that big".

They are sent away for testing of Trichinella plus other tests.

A tally of nine since Friday, I have posted these to high light what is done to keep a check on any areas with potential problems.

I suspect it might just be that the man called to say he was collecting in the area and will you have any carcasses.

"I think we're going to need a bigger boat van!":good:

Correct....I thought the title might have given it away :innocent:

Thanks for the replies

Being the above average fool and no shrinking violet, what is trichinella? Also how is it pronounced?

U :-/

we have to have our pigs tested for trichinella now as they are out door pigs it a disease that has not been found here for some 50 years i believe we send pigs to be slaughtered then have to wait for results to come back before we can collect and it's now a pain but hay ho,
