steveyg
Had a great offer to Join Jdog on a new permission of his today,on arrival we could tell these rape fields have been hit hard over the last few weeks, there were 100+ in the trees however only a very slight flightline so Jdog decided not to set up and walk the perm. Myself and my father set up with a couple on the magnet,a floater and one on the flapper. A few decoyed beautifully and we had a great session finishing on 14. Jdog I believe had three pigeons and he claimed to have hit a crow with ice on his wings it was that high however I didn't see it .... I did and it was very high..cracking shot. My father has not been out for a while and finished with nine, including a cracking double which put a huge grin on his face...quality moment. Quality fews hours with my father...cheers Jdog.... JDog
I finished on five carrions, one rook, one jackdaw and four pigeons. Three good points from today. Firstly I hope that steveyg and his father will be able to shoot this land long term. As it is only ten minutes from their doors it will be handy for them. The stubble shooting should be very good. Secondly I had the great pleasure in seeing a female Goshawk sitting in a tree no more than 10m from me. The winter sun showed off her barred breast a treat. Thirdly a kingfisher flashed by me along a woodland ride three times showing off it's iridescent plumage.
