Non-alcoholic Beverage/Mocktail

This is one that I came up with since knocking drink on the head last December (29th - had way too much to drink and felt like properly rotten for 3 days) but I'm sure others may have their own version of this.

The Blonde Bombshell:

Named in Mrs H's honour - In equal parts you need Ginger Cordial (I use Rochester Ginger with the green label), cloudy apple juice and soda water (I use a soda siphon which I make up with tap water, a 1/4 teaspoon of Bicarbonate of Soda and a CO2 sparklet, as it gives a frothy head and makes the drink look like a blonde beer). You can also buy soda water from supermarkets and off license's.

In a pint glass, fill to 1/3 with the ginger cordial, add a handful of ice, add 1/3 of cloudy apple juice (clear can also be used but it may not give the same visual end result, not that it really matters too much), top up the remaining third with the soda water (can use lemonade but it does make it a bit sweeter which is ok if you want to serve it to youngsters). The sweetness of the apple juice is plenty sweet enough for me though and the ginger cordial gives it a nice kick, that's where the bombshell bit comes in.

Especially good on long hot summer days too as it is a real thirst quencher.

Merry Christmas & enjoy!

Doc.
