Hi to all I have had my l200 double cab for a year now and my kids keep saying it's really bumpy in the back and my wife's complained about it. So I have asked santa for some gas shocks for the rear hoping this should sort it. Now I didn't admit it to the wife but it is really bouncy has anyone else come across this

Or is it just the way they are.

Oh and it's usually just got three spaniels in the back and a Ifor Williams canopy so that's light weight

Regards mike

No I think it's the k74 model and the leaf springs look like they got changed as the u bolts are all new ish looking

If they look to have been changed, maybe they have had a after market ones on and they have started to lose their tension

Just a quick update I have brought some new gas dampers for Xmas and today I managed to get started on changing the pair. So when I got the first one of there was no resistance what's so ever the ram just fell back inside so I managed to get one side done before I lost the light so I will do the other side in the morning and let you know

Cheers mike

My L200 has a hard ride due to having heavy duty leaf springs on the back for all the heavy stuff I cart round at times. If i'm not carrying weight then I generally put 7 bags of sand in the back and a board over the top with carpet on it so I can still put general stuff in there without puncturing the bags. Gives me some weight over the back end in slippery conditions and softens the ride up for day to day running. Losing 100mm of height in the back isn't a big issue at all.

Well I managed to change the other damper today after a bit of heat on the bolts and my fingers they were colder than polor bears brass monkeys. Well after the road test with the kids and other half you could tell a massive difference. Now I know it's never going to ride like the Audi but it is much better now.thanks for all your responses and if we have anymore bad weather I will put some sand bags in as for the Audi my wife had a lucky escape last night coming down the lanes she had a major blow out lucky enough she managed to stop safely with no harm done after all it's only metal and that can be replaced
