Tuition by Terry at A1 Shooting Ground

Hello All

I have been on Pigeonwatch for a while and took up clay shooting just under a year ago. I had the pleasure of being given a lesson by Terry (aka Bakerboy) yesterday at the A1 Shooting Ground. This was on the back of many posts I have read on this forum and can attest to the fact that he is a really great instructor.

He was patient, guiding and very encouraging in his approach. I have shot smallbore and fullbore rifles and pistols for over 35 years and it was hard for me not to focus on the bead and squeeze slowly on the trigger. Before I embedded these bad habits into my shooting I thought tuition would be beneficial. Terry explained the mechanics behind the discipline and got me to trust in my instincts and how to approach each station/type of clay. I had also never shot gun down before seeing Terry but feel confident enough to use gun down method more in the future.

In a very short amount of time, I was shooting with a consistency I have never had before and would definitely recommend Terry to anyone. I will be back for some more lessons in the very near future.

Thanks Terry! Top man!

p.s. The A1 shooting ground is a very nice place also.

To be fair, he is a top bloke and an excellent baker. So good in fact, I named my Aldi bread machine "Terry" as a compliment.

A Bread Machine named after him  great idea.

I was thinking if I get another gun dog I'll call him after my dad, as hopefully he'll be as useful in the field as him and I can blame him for any strange smells :lol:

I had a very good lesson last week with Terry at A1. It was a couple of hours well spent! Terry is a nice, easy-going chap who know's what he's talking about. By the end of the lesson I felt I had definately learnt a few things that would make a big difference to my shooting. The hard job will be keeping the bad habits at bay without Terry by my side to advise! Anyway look forward to another lesson soon, thanks Terry, maybe next time you can tell me all about this baking business?

I am a "masterbaker" I will have you know. But please be very careful how you say it, especially if you have an accent it could turn me into a W****R.:lol::whistling:

Great lesson, made easier by someone that listens, look forward to meeting up again before too long.

ICT-GUY where are you based? I move around a lot but can recommend good Coaches in many areas.
