A-Series
How do all, just nicely become a member of The Yorkshire Shooting Centre and got my FAC and i'm stuck. I've a slot for a .308 rifle to fill and there is so many conflicting opinions on what rifle/scope to go for that i'm jolly confused. I have a budget of 3k all in and I shall be shooting at 100yds at my club and out to 1000yds if/when I get chance to, I'm not into competitions I just shoot for fun although I would like to get some nice groups! Initially I was thinking of a tikka or sako factory rifle but then I saw some custom remingtons from Valkyrie and had to have a cold shower, I've sent them an email with my budget but I doubt I can afford one. So, any ideas gentlemen? Edit: Just realised this should be in guns and equipment, d'oh. Edited January 24, 2015 by steve_b_wales Moved. iain
Welcome to the club. Before you buy, ask members if you can try theirs. No rush to buy. Have a play. For £3000 you have plenty of choice. For a first choice I'd go for main stream rifle or semi custom job.
A-Series
Indeed, I've managed to have a go on a remington 700, tikka t3 and a sako trg 22 and i liked them all! I do like the idea of a semi custom though.

A-Series
I've been looking at custom Remington 700, I think this seems the best way to go. Im going to go over to Valkyrie to chat about a build in the next few weeks, they seem to produce some really nice rifles and David who does them comes highly recommended, I can't wait, feel like a kid at christmas! silverhawk
I've had both sakos and tikka t3.Recently changed over to a remington 700 and never looked back. You won't go wrong with one of David's builds.
