stuart21
Hi all, I need to get myself a new pair of walking shoes, so am looking for suggestions. I have had cheap ones and have had merrels, but I seem to wear most of my shoes out in about a year, as the soles just go. Any recommendation on walking shoes that are comfortable, waterproof and hopefully last more than a year. Thanks

stuart21
Thanks all! The last two pairs of karrimor shave been very poor quality and have let water in through the sole. I think I'll take a look at the solomans

figgy
Altberg do some very good walking shoes. Brasher also do them, nearly bought a pair till I tried them on and my wife started laughing at me. They have a distinct type of look when on your feet. Comfy though. Paddy Galore!
Get thyself to a proper shop and get fitted, it'll save you in the long run. I was looking at some very expensive boots but after a fitting the go outdoors rep recommended some (slightly) cheaper scarpas instead. Edited February 2, 2015 by Paddy Galore!
