Hawkes "Panorama" scope is called such as it has a much wider field of view than normal. It what they call "EV" for extreme view. The "Airmax" is now built the same too. The AO stands for adjustable objective. Adjustment of the front lens to remove parallax error. marnold Posted February 19, 2015 Report Share Posted February 19, 2015 I have two Hawke Panorama EV AO 4-12x50 on top of a BSA R10 MK2 and a CZ 455 .22LR and personally, I think they are absolutely rubbish if I'm honest! They shift POI when changing magnification and are never very clear regardless of the AO setting. They are on my list to replace (sooner rather than later)! I just can't handle them - they do my swede in! For an extra £100, the mtc beats them hands down. But I have other cheaper scopes like a simmons wtc and I really don't think it compares in clarity. I'm only commenting on my experience of the AO version of the panorama mind - that may be the issue here. I haven't tried a non AO version which may be better, but for clarity, I'll stick with an mtc at the lower budget end of the scope range and wouldn't buy another hawke now.
