Two greylags hung up in the garage are testament that is was worth going after all. Could have shot a few more but two was enough, and also enough to carry back. Saw a few pinks as well which was a bonus, not normally a winter goose locally, just get them in the autumn before the move off further south.

Well done a fine way to finish the season , I should think the pinks have dropped in for a rest on their way home.

Glad the flight went well Richard. A mate and I Had a few mallard last night but despite plenty of teal about this morning we had no further luck. Funny yesterday we hardly saw any teal , but a good sharp frost last night brought them out from inland , but a rapid thaw this morning sent them all back inland by the top of the tide mid morning.

Only one small skien of pinks seen heading high west today.

amazing how quick the end of the season comes round,im surposed to be going to scotland for the last week but unsure now, reports are far to many people and shooting at everything that comes off regardless of height.why do geese have this affect on people.i cant believe they are complete w####rs all the time,or are they?

Speaking to some folk a lot of these guys are not Wildfowlers as I know it, they take a once a year trip to Scotland on a lads outing to have a few shots and drink some beer....not doing any wildfowling for the rest of the year I suspect they get bored and try a few shots more on hope than expectation, and it their mates also have a go then they must be in range surely ?!?!
