Ben Taylor and Sons ( he was the Ben in theoBEN) did my MK2 a few years ago but not sure if he's still trading. He was designing for Milbro Sports Ltd too but I think I remember someone saying he'd packed in and gone travelling round world?

They were just outside Newmarket Suffolk. I've just googled him and he still has a website.

Ben Taylor isnt trading any more either !

For me it would be Darren at XTX air soley because he has a great reputation and hes far more local than KevG.

Local to you maybe, but a damned site further from Norwich than Doncaster is! KevG is in Doncaster approximately 140 miles, XTX is in Lower Broadheath approximately 193 miles!

Umm, depends. Some folk swear by him, and I guess he did a reasonable job fitting my full Hugget mod and certainly sorted the trigger. But the conversion to FAC was expensive and, frankly, rubbish. Repeatedly blew the seals and dumped all the air. KevG remade the regulator and it's a different beast. Ultra reliable and great consistency.

So, if you want something added or tweaked I'd say he's okay. But for a conversion to FAC no way, KevG's work is way better.

Ben Taylor would have also nawsed it up. KevG sorted mine.

You are having a laugh, he and Dave revolutionised air weapons, his inventive brain and Dave's design and engineering skill were world leading. I have over the years had several Theobens and have had the privilege to test most of the models they produced, never fired a bad one. First time I used an SLR magazine system a year or so before its public launch we put a very wide range of pellet weights in the same mag, at 25 yards they grouped into half an inch.

Ben also did good work on the AMT rim fires they brought in the make them better behaved with subbies.

No laughs, his conversions to FAC are rubbish, simply making the regulator work as a free flow. If you can get one to hold air for more than a couple of months your doing well. The rest of the engineering on the Rapids is brilliantly robust, and no doubt at the time ground breaking.

That wasn't the question though was it? The question was 'who can turn my Mk.1 Rapid into an FAC' and for that, in my experience and many others, KevG will do a better job.
