duckyquacker
Hi, I'm a new clay shooter (from Oxford/Headington area), I've been reading PW for years but have only just joined. I've found the Oxford Gun Company who seem excellent, but I am keen to explore further. Only the problem is that everything seems to happen on a Sunday morning, which I can't ever do. I have an existing commitment that time every week. Does anyone know of any clay shooting (100 / 50 sporting clays) on a weekday or Saturday (or Sunday afternoon), other than the OGC? As an aside, I also would be keen to help with any local pigeon/crow/roost shoots, if I can be useful.
Oxfordshooter
I sometimes go to Edge Hill near Banbury and Barbury near Swindon on a Saturday. These are the closest to Oxford I've found other than Oxford Gun Club. PM me if you're interested in meeting up and seeing what they are like. Not been but Oxford Shooting School and West Berks at Newbury
Hatcher
It is worth having a look at EJ Churchills in High Wycombe, they are only 35 mins up the road for you and offer a fantastic range of targets in a great setting. They also have the 'Churchill Challenge' at the moment, which is a clay course of 8 stands with 3 sequences; its a great little course. This can be shot at anytime throughout the week but you will have to phone up and book a slot Hatcher
Meerkat
How do, There is Royal Berks Shooting School in Pangbourne, and Oxfordshire Shooting School in Enstone for weekday practice and a rich pocket. If you are available Sundays then there is Marcham Shooting Ground just outside Hanney, Crazy Bear in Stadhampton and Four Counties down at Great Shefford. Marcham is essentially a straw baler which offers 6 stands of 8 targets (48 total) for £12 or a round of skeet for £6. Crazy Bear offers 100 sporting for £32 birds only or £35 to enter the comp. Four counties offers 100 registered sporting I forget how much. Always happy to go along with anyone. I am based in Abingdon. My parents live over near Wootton Bassett so I get over to Barbury now and again too.
