Wanting a new 4x4

I drive a 61 plate defender 130. It does a lot of towing which it is good at but there are too many bad points with this motor. New engine @51k,transfer box @55k,rear diff & half shafts @61k. Yesterday the turbo went on it @68k.

I wouldn't spend my money on anything but a landrover and I have drove them for 27 years.

If I'd had a run like that with a 5 year old car I don't think I'd be raring to get another one!

A mate of mine - who runs a Defender - had a test drive in the Volkswagen. He said it was under-powered and had an agricultural gearbox.

 

Another had the full range of 4 x 4s and now has the latest Isuzu pickup. He thinks it is brilliant.

My Amarok's gearbox went again today 2nd problem with it in one year.. It's 8 speed auto version..I would look at isuzu or new Navarro next time which will be next year..
