if you want to try some my pup, (cocker spaniel) was brought up on it

He ate the bag he came with, then as soon as i bought a big bag, he decided he wasn't eating it,

so i have a bit left over, which we are slowly getting through

I'm not too far away from you and could bag up a few meals to allow you to try it before buying some

Had my cocker on it from 10weeks till she was 14 months

She allways looked really well on it good coat plenty of energy most of all good solid stools

Moved on to there junior food over a 10 day period her coat lost its shine she got sluggish

and the squirts like I never seen, then onto salmon and rice on skinners advice never looked back

And that gave me the money back on the junior food

Not sure about pups , but generally long dogs are fed a higher protein diet than most other working dogs.

Only when they are mature and you are running them regular (working them).the puppy food should be fine mate until it's ready of age for working then get him on the high protein stuff like fe boy says.

We have a lab with a wheat(gluten?) allergy and for first year didn't do too well. Thought it was the **** she seemed to find every day in garden/out walking but once diagnosed moved her onto Sknners rice-based food and now she's a totally different dog with a fantastic shiny coat. Our other dogs thriving on same diet which is a bonus. Noticed last bag has slightly smaller pellets which suits terriers although to be fair they would (and do) eat **** if we're sugared!!

Our Cocker Bitch has been on Skinners Rough and Ready since she was a year old after advice from one of their staff we met at a game fair, prior to starting her on this food - she was absolutely Mental(even by cocker standards), within a week of being on it she had really calmed down, much more responsive when training,Now its the only one she eats, and everyone that meets her either when we are out walking, or when she is working comments on the condition of her coat, and temperament, she has bags of energy from it, and the waste that comes out the other end is minimal and very easy to clean.

I would thoroughly recommend it
