Thanks for the response this one was made by Garbi I know arretta. Made them as well but the sn was ga offered at 750 just not sure if it is an investment or not condition is only good

I'm not sure Gunmark used Garbi, they certainly used arrieta and gorosable. The makers code will tell you, AC for arrieta, PG gorosable and if it is a Garbi GA OR GARBI.

I got it for a really good price, I'm really picky on condition so under rate things but would say it's good but not mint. There is a mark in the rib and a bit of blue missing on the ends from the slip so I thought 400 was a bargain

Wow well done you eve. I would have taken it for that this one has had the stock shortened and then a piece added but still to short for Me plus it has a mark on the blueing from the cab putting it in and out poss slight right hand cast I thought 750 was a bit much the chap is going in for a opperation and was just off loading a few guns in case he did not come out and if he did he was going to use the cash for a Holliday as well was not sure and did not want him to think I was taking the pea I left it . Still I will chase it up tommmorow and see what can be done with the price if it is still their .thanks for all the info

That sounds like a fair price, I don't think I will find another cheap again.

Even at that price with a re blue and service it is still under market value.

The stock on this one is original but short, I didn't want to mess with it in my eyes it ruins the classic looks.

Mine is by Garbi. Paid £350. Got it from RFD who had serviced it all it's life. Short stock hence price but lovely gun. Assisted opener is a bit like a work out in the gym if you are in the shooting. Used mine roost shooting on Saturday and now have achy forearm as I got through a couple of boxes of shells. Only real complaint is the ejectors which push shells out at least 20ft so I have to try to keep barrels pointing towards ground to ensure I find as many as possible.

Never used an assisted opener but know how they work. What's so hard about using it, obviously easy to open but is it difficult to close?

Difficult to close as you are compressing springs used to 'assist opening' - if you've fired both barrels, as often occurs pigeon shooting, it requires double the effort. And those ejectors - wife stood with me on peg and having fired both barrels forgot about wife/ejectors I managed to hit her in the head with both empties!! For an old gun everything seems to work rather too well. Only problem in 6/7 years of use was a broken firing pin.
