I dont really understand what you are meaning in your original post. perhaps you could re read it and explain a bit more about what is happening. Watch the videos on youtube by **** ******* and Chris Batha or Gil Ashe >> Ect. Loads of good advice on there. There is good advice on here also if we could understand your post.

If you have a qualified instructor and by "following the clay all the way" you mean in front of it, then this method is called 'sustained lead' and is a recognised method. Should you actually mean what you wrote, change your instructor.

Maybe, it depends what type of target he was shooting.

Basically you just need to arrange a collision. This means shooting at a point in front of the clay depending on its speed and distance so that it and your shot string reach the same point at the same time.

 

As my dad would say..........shoot where it's going boy and not where it's just bloody been!
