I had pure Bazantys one year and found them to be as wild as hell they flew like missiles, trouble is they never stopped and most ended up in the next parish. I now get first cross Bazantys crossed with French ringnecks these I have had for several years now and they hold and fly really well.

It depends entirely on your expectations, topography and keepering input.

 

Some shoots will excel with ringnecks, whereas others get the best out of Michigan crosses. No point in putting down breeds that are prone to wonder if you have a few drives on 2 or 3 hundred acres and can't spend hours dogging in.

 

The skill is choosing a breed that suits your keepering, shoot and topography.
