Hi All

The BASC council elections have begun for 2015. Langstone Wildfowlers are endorsing Allen Musselwhite for the BASC 2015 Council elections. It would be greatly appreciated if you could distribute the attached flyer to anyone interested and also direct them to the website about Allen Musselwhite www.allenmusselwhite.com.
Allen also has a youtube channel where he will be uploading several interest videos https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C0t6yd0tfjw
At the moment wildfowling is represented by a minority on the BASC council, if Allen is appointed this will change and we will get a much better representation for the sport and way of life that we all love.
You can vote for Allen here : VOTE ALLEN
If you have any questions please ask below or send an email to voteallenmusselwhite@gmail.com
Regards
Steve

Many of us fowlers think BASC did not represent our views during the recent discussions about putting greylag geese on the general licence - so we feel a bit incensed about things at the moment.

Fowlers were the original BASC through WAGBI changing its shape and aims.

OK, thanks for that. I'm not a fowler (though I hope to try it one day) but I understand BASCs fowling origins as WAGBI. But BASC has evolved to represent all live quarry shooting since then, and I feel that council members aligning themselves to factions within the sport is divisive. I'd feel the same if someone said they were representing pigeon shooters to be honest. Although that is one aspect of the sport I do participate in, like most of us (I suspect) my shooting interests are much more varied than that and I look to BASC to protect all of them.

The wildfowling candidates do all forms of shooting from wildfowling to crop protection and vermin shooting so are generally very well rounded individuals to represent shooters from all forms. If its real shooters or people with management experience, id prefer the shooters who understand the issues affecting all the shooting types are are able to vocabulirise (if thats a word?) those issues and bring about change on our behalf, people on the ground that will listen. The fact they have management experience on top of that is great and ticks the boxes for me. They wont be there solely for wildfowling, i think most wildfowlers have done pigeon shooting and vermin control (and clay control!). LIkewise, you do various types of shooting so would want someone who knows them, and when you get the wildfowling bug im sure youll be glad to have someone represent that as well.

Another vote for Allen here, known the guy for ages. Spent many a time on a freezing cold marsh, rough shooting for game and vermin with him. Great guy and has the interest of our sport as a whole in the forefront of his mind. :good:

Agree totally with that. I am a part time keeper who fowls and stalks and shoots pigeons. Also do a lot of conservation work. If I had to pick anyone of them it would be the fowling but I hope it never comes to that.
