NickP
i recently bought a couple of different tins of pellets to try, they seem quite accurate but thought a non scientific test of penetrating power would be good So i set up my old Argos Catalogue and shot from 25ft away, powered up the AT44-10 and shot the four pellets then checked to see how many pages it took to stop the pellet from piercing the paper or creasing the paper Air Arms Field Diablo 239 pages Bisley Practice 211 page JSB Exact Jumbo 163 Pages Bisley Magnum 325Pages I have to say i was surprised how the flat headed Bisley Practice did and how bad the JSB Exact Jumbo faired All Four pellets seemed to deform the same
oliver90owner
Different masses? So different impact energies (muzzle energy would do)? Possibly (not suggesting certainty) the lesser penetration might be advantageous over a pellet passing through a quarry (given the same energy and deformation, etc). Might there have been a difference at more realistic ranges (I'm confident they would all despatch a rat at that sort of range). My suggestion would be to concentrate on grouping initially. Precision and accuracy comes above argos catalogues any time. RAB
