woodland cover

Recommended Posts

me and a few lads have just cleared a wood on our land so more light gets to the ground as it was very baron and cold so it didn't hold birds.

Now we are looking for some low level cover what does everyone use or recommend to use the cheaper the better.

Laurels.

Plant them, at least 20 feet apart, 30 is better, then after a few years half cut them through and lay them over, the bits touching the ground will re root. Nice thick low level cover that you dog can get into when the need occurs.

I lay about 30 or 40 a year at this time of year from stock I planted 4 - 7 years ago.
