I have just purchased a new Daystate Airwolf Mct .177 after being offered the right money for my super 10. I am looking at purchasing a new scope for it as the one that i have got at the minute is terrible. I use the rifle for daytime shooting squirrels and pigeons etc however I do use it for some target shooting. I have no idea what type/make to look for; someone told me an MTC Viper was a good scope? I am looking to spend around the £200 mark any help would be appreciated :)

New record for longest time before a first post? ;)

Welcome to the forum! I've never been a fan of the MTC range (with the exception of the Mamba Lite). I've had a couple of different Vipers and the Mamba and all of them have been really milky in low light conditions. They seem to be marmite scopes, and I'm definitely a hater. I've got a Hawke Sidewinder 3-12x50 on my Wolverine right now and that's superb. you should be able to pick one of those up second hand around the £200 mark.

The Mamba Lite is the best of the bunch. it's a 1" tube, but seems much better at keeping a clear image.

I am thinking about selling it on though, and getting a Hawke Panorama ev instead. It's cheaper and only a 1" scope and AO rather than the side focus of the sidewinder, but it's much lighter and the illuminating reticle has blue and red - I've never been sold on the green IR of the Sidewinder. They'd be my three choices!

I,ve got the Hawke Panorama EV 3 x 9 x 50 AO IR on a couple of my daystates including the MCT Tact .177,

they are superb glass for the money and excellent in low light conditions also, they sell for upwards of £125 so it will save you a couple of bob to spend on pellets,

AA diablo fields 4.52 ,,,, bis long range gold and accupell FT,s group best in my mct airwolf

good luck with whatever you pick but the panorama range are excellent value for money

You need to look through as many as you can, as the choices are just mind bendingly massive. I'm just getting back to basics and putting 4x40s back on after a Hawke that's got lots of adjustments to adjust before even getting a shot off. To much time faffing not enough time shooting.
