nderfel
several stalks included here plus a few piccies from my new thermal camera add on for my iphone, I will write a separate review on that when I have a mo but I have been really impressed. the 2 does were obviously shot in March. hope you enjoy this is the view from the highseat, a roe buck appeared about 10 minutes before dusk but we don't shoot them on this permission. I thought I was in for another frustrating afternoon until as light was fading fast another deer appeared from the front. It was so dark I couldn't make out the species or sex through my binos but a look through my new meopta scope (bought for light gathering) showed her to be a roe doe. cross hairs still visible and a good clean heart shot later she dropped where she stood. My first deer with my new stalking rifle, a SHR 970 so a great day out and one to remember even if she was covered in ticks, horrible things! the doe the second doe, a fallow. the view from the seat. She appeared through the trees and started out, a heart shot and she ran on for 20 yards or so back into the trees. The picture at the bottom is the same deer but taken through my seek xr thermal camera on the iphone. as you can see it made her easy to locate. It was a case of wrong time wrong date as this was a last day of the season deer. last one (promise) This big fallow buck appeared whilst on the way with the game keeper to set up for pigeons, he was dispatched by steve the gamekeeper in short order. removing his mad spaniel that had attached itself to the beast was harder work that dragging it all the way back to the wagon! the dog got to the deer in its last throws and got a few scratches on his face in the process, something he has form for having had numerous stitches in his neck a few years ago in the same situation. A fine looking animal with some really interesting antlers. One happy dog. Thanks Nick

nderfel
Cheers youngie. I wish it was the same day, that was three separate trips, all involved sat watching pigeon decoys for hours with nothing to shoot at besides the deer

nderfel
Cheers, I didn't say actually, it's a .308. A bit heavy on the roes but the fallow up in Sussex when I shoot up there are monsters and I would rather have overkill than under.
