Not an ideal scenario I agree and I dont like being responsible for cubs "starving to death". However, when I am asked to shoot foxes on a new farm I have 2 choices. Dont shoot them due to the time of the year and loose the permission or do what I am asked to. Where possible I will get terriers down to deal with the cubs if I am sure where the set is, but this isnt always possible. In reality there is a chance of orphaning cubs from the end of Jan to July so would your suggestion be not to shoot any foxes during this period? Or just shoot the dogs? nice job is the photon any good A good little scope, much better with the doubler. I generally use this rifle for the bunnies but if a fox is at a sensible range I will happily shoot them. I would get rid of my CZ452 and get another 1517 instead but unfortunately I think my wife would bury me under the patio if I spent any more money. In essence I would recommend it. The response was more of a question to bobo. To be fair I have never liked orphaning cubs, or anything else.
