That Makes A Refreshing Change

A week last Sunday I set off to go shooting at Braithwell. I`d gone about 600 yards when there was a horrible grinding sound and it was pretty clear that the clutch had gone. I arranged for the car to be picked up and on Tuesday afternoon I was informed that not only had the clutch gone but part of the gearbox was ruined too. As the car was just a cheap Fiat Punto runabout it really wasn`t worth repairing. Fortunately my mechanic mate had another cheap car sat on his lot so I checked out the insurance costs and it was only an extra £60, mostly administration fee. Sorted the insurance and picked up my "new" Saab 900s convertable on Friday. It was a bit of a Helen Mirren car, old but still tidy.

Went shooting with friends at Pinewood on Saturday and as the place was packed we just did a couple of compaqs and then drove down to Whitewater. Had a round of skeet and DTL and then set off home. Left Whitewater and was almost at my exit on the A1 when something went wrong with the car and it lost all power. At first I couldn`t get the engine to start but eventually it turned over but was making a horrible noise and clearly wasn`t driveable. Cut to Sunday evening and I find out a con rod has gone straight through the engine. Car is a write off and I`ve only had it for around 26 hours...

As expected my mate immediately gives me my cash back and I start looking for another new car.

Managed to find one through another shooting mate and popped down to buy it. Had to tax and insure it there and then and here comes the reason for the title of this thread.,,

Firstly the woman I`m dealing with at the insurance agency tells me that as it`s only been 5 days since I switched the insurance over they won`t charge me the admin. fee. Great news.

Then she tells me I`m due a rebate on the policy, just over £126. I was so shocked I had to get her to repeat what she`d said.
