Hi

Been a member for a few years not really active though as I put shooting to the side for the last three years.

Circumstances have changed and Im getting back into shooting, well clay shooting.

I used to shoot clays at mendip shooting ground occasionally but I was thinking of trying some different grounds. I'm located in west wilts, also I shoot on my own so clubs with trappers would be a bonus

Any recommendations ?

Ah right I see.

There's a few places to try before they open open up at Upton cheyney

Have you shot at brookbank?

No I haven't, in fact I didn't know there was one. You shot it yet?

Got any details?

Ignore that, just found the web page. Looks very decent! Bit of a trek from Chippenham though.

Seems they have a no.6 shot size restriction, how weird! Seen a few places with a weight restriction and some where you have to use their carts but never seen a shot size restriction before.

Ignore that, I'm being a tit. It was a max size restriction

No not yet only ever shot clays at bisley and mendip shooting ground but I used to do a lot of rough shooting,
But because of a change of job becoming a dad etc I'm going to start clay shooting as its more convenient for me

Ah I see, good plan.

Can't see a restriction on shot size only steel?

It's hidden but if you open up one of the shoots in the calendar it shows the following..

"Cartridge restriction applies Wednesday - Saturday at BB. Hull & Fiocchi brands only permitted, max 28gr weight, 6 max shot size - CPSA safety requirements. Plastic & fibre wads allowed."

No great hardship really, think Mendip do something similar because of fear of noise complaints. Seems they're less restrictive at the weekends though.
