first thank you for showing us how to make some.i made a dozen using the plastic honeycomb stuff had some threaded bar 6mm in the shed so used that for pegs.

iset them out in the field just over the road from my house , so i could watch from the window what might happen, it was a quite part of the day not a lot of birds flying about . i just wanted to see how they looked . have enclosed a couple of pictures . first picture just the decoys . second picture in came some rooks watch them get closer and join the decoys , in the second picture the 4 outer are decoys and in the middle was to live rooks . i was amazed one of the got within a couple of feet and was not bothered one bit. this got me thinking do they not take much notice of other birds while they are searching on the ground for food , do they become focused on feeding .

once again thats very much

second picture with rooks in the center

So now you know they pull the birds in :good: I await your field trials :good:

Looking at your photos, one thing I would suggest is getting some of the decoys on longer ground spikes  this will give them the clearance above the grass/crop and allow them to fill with wind and rotate which will add movement to your pattern :good:

Good effort by the way, well done BB

Others on here use the silhouette decoys made from correx  but if you want to do a proper job go the whole hog and get the socks made up for the deeks :good: trust me you will not be disappointed,

Remember you seen it here first, designed by Bluebarrels, made by Bluebarrels and posted by Bluebarrels :lol: and yes I have being using these for years  BB

Anyone who wants a dozen or so ply deeks (without socks) PM me and I will post them on to you (will save you cutting them out and painting up) otherwise they will become rifle targets

(Decoys now gone to suffolkngood)

Hi could someone give me some rough dimensions for these? Have some nice big sheets of correx just want to make sure I get the sizing right. Also it is quite thin prob about 3 to 4 mm would you double it up?

I just cut a plastic crow decoy in two and drew around it :good: BB

I did not double the correx up,its pretty strong stuff

Just be careful when you mark your decoys out, make sure the vents run top to bottom on your deeks to allow you to insert the ground spike :good: BB
