Hi there guys

Since I have got my sgc licence finding a land to go wood pigeon or rabbit shooting has proved to be a nightmare. I have been to clay club but that's not something I want to do. My real passion is shooting pigeon and rabbit. I would be very grateful if someone introduces me or takes me with him, I have my own shotgun and I live in Bradford

I did message on a mobile number which I am sure of john. I didn't speak to him as he didn't pick the phone however I texted and got the reply sorry can't help you. I remember I spoke to him once back in November and he told me that there was not much going on then. I just don't know what to do. I go to clay shooting club but nothing is working out there either. I have spoken to quite a few people but to no avail. It's so frustrating just can't tell you. I have a shotgun in the cabinet with around 100 cartridges but don't know where to go. My god it doesn't make any sense does it? Are you from Bradford

Bradford is no differen to any region.

I've been shooting for nearly 40 years and only really focused on game shooting for last 10 or so years. This year I've tried to get some pigeon shooting locally but have struggled due to the number of other shooters on the patch. Many of who I know and refuse to poach their permission.

Get in the beating lines this coming game season or offer your help to your local gamekeepers as is gonna get bloody busy for them now and they may appreciate your help. It's not what you know........it's who you know.

Good luck

Hi,

Pigeon shooting with nppc is seasonal, once the oil seed rape stubble as been disc or ploughed then you have to wait until the new sown rape is established and the pigeon start to get intrested in raiding the osr fields,

it's frustrating joining a club but that's how it works,as m khan as said,it's about getting out, joining a shoot as a beater, showing you are safe and can do a good job then the keeper or shoot manager may allow you to shoot vermin,

good luck.

Thanks for your advice it makes sense and of course you speaking from your own personal experience. I would be grateful if you please tell me how do you find your local gamekeepers lol

Find you local game dealer as that's wher the shoots take the birds. They'll know who the keepers are.
