ShootingEgg Posted April 24, 2015 Report Share Posted April 24, 2015 Morning all, I currently have a FAC licence and have to inform the local FAD when i pick up new perms, they check system and then if on there i get the ok if not i have to provide a letter and they check the land. One of the guys in the FAD has said to me to request an open licence. My main question is that i have had my licence for 18months. I have shot all my life but only recently decided to get the licence for reasons i wont go into. What are peoples experiences of trying to change to an open. I was quite happy to wait but have started getting more requests and its more hassle sometimes to get the written permission. Luckyshot Posted April 24, 2015 Report Share Posted April 24, 2015 (edited) First off you don't need every permission in writing its upto you on wether or not you want it.(you already know that but Ile still put it in) If you have more permission coming regular write a short letter to your Flo and request the land deemed suitable condition to be replaced with any land you have permission to shoot as some Flo don't like the term open/closed. See where you are coming from, i used to work for my local force in there IT support so know tge staff well, have had a chat with the office staff, but ultimately its down to the powers that be.. If you can give good reason for an "open ticket " relaxed conditions and provide references from experienced shooters who would be willing to write a letter to the fact that they have witnessed you shoot safely they might be more willing to relaxe your conditions to an open ticket, best of luck Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
