Is it worth the trouble of going down the route of barrels swapsies from .22 to .17 hmr with the 455 or just get one of each rifle?

Did have my head set on a HW 17hmr but cant seem to find a decent S/H one so toying with idea of a CZ and looking for both .22 and 17HMR

It's easy enough to change the barrel on the CZ455, but it does involve removing the action from the stock as well as the two grubscrews that hold the barrel. Although perhaps not absolutely necessary, it really needs a torque wrench/screwdriver to to the job "properly".

Like the other's have said, it's probably best to get one of each calibre. I mean, you can never have too many rifles ....... can you? :hmm::whistling:

Had this idea myself but settled with a quad as barrels are easier to find in .22lr. If you go for the cz455 the synthetic american go for 325 in hmr And sportsman have 22lr barrels. Not seen hmr barrels separately or anywhere else.

I would seriously think of having two rifles. I just know I will hardly use the hmr but wanted one for corvids and fox

From my general understanding even Quad owners tend to buy 1 rifle 1 calibre, very few are swapping barrels on a regular basis.

The 455 was never actually designed to be a Quad type, it simply happens that the manufacturing process makes this possible.

It is a more involved process than the Quad and whilst some will most definitely find the Quad/455 calibre changing ability useful it really hasn't caught on.

:good:

Yep. Mate had the Sako Quad and eventually got rid and went back to having two dedicated rifles instead. Said it was too much faffing about.
