night vision range finder

I assume you are talking about the normal laser type range finders, often based on "golf" equipment.

I have two, a Nikon and a Bushnel.

They all work at night, the problem is reading the display which is not backlit.

Keeping the button pressed to 'lock' the reading and then pointing to a bright night sky or whatever works quite well. I use the Nikon mostly and at night every week. Would not be without it.

I have had mine for a few years and at the time nothing was available with a backlight. If you find one that is any good, please post your conclusion here. There may be several models now.

custom rifle scopes do a few range finders, the 5-800m one I am looking at is quite pricey but has a backlit screen, works day and night, fits nicely on the scope and looks to do the trick. But then you would have no excuses for misjudging distances and missing the tagets, bunnies in my case.!!

Your so very right, My scope is Zeroed at 75m as with the .22 on bunnies day and night at that range and under is straight forward and clean!! I imagine everyone else shoots them at much larger distances, I'm happy with my shooting at that distance with the kit I have. .22 ruger and the Yukon basic NV with a ir 400 torch. I would like to minimise misjudging distances at night as that is where Im missing, if I shine the lamp out to see the distance then turn it off to shoot its okay but it sort of cancels out the reason for having NV.
