My mate used to make repro medieval furniture for churches and old buildings, film sets etc. Used to charge a fortune for it, he always maintained that he got into doing it because he was **** at being a decent joiner/ cabinet maker and could never manage to get anything to line up after he'd cut it.

 

Anyhow, he would add 'the patina of years' in a few hours, whacking the wood with chains, rubbing in soot from the fire, generally kicking bits around the workshop until they 'looked right'.

 

Personally, I think you should stick with what you're doing though, looks like a cracking job.

Yep it's got right hand cast, i don't have any checker tools so sent it to a gun smith.

But started a new project now.

I have some checkering tools you could have borrowed, as I'm sure others on the forum would have done the same, if you do another be sure to ask!
