malkiserow
I've an old Feinwerkbau 127 sport mk2 that is running very sweetly on power at 11.7ftlb with very repeatable shots through the chrono. It is superbly accurate. I am not looking for more power but am looking to quieten down the spring as it is noisey with a very noticeable twang from the spring when fired. Any thoughts on how to make it sound sweet without messing up the power?
hyflier
Nyloil spring guide and / or a "top hat" ?
Dougy
There not as noisy down range, but as above that will knock some twang out of it. Thats one of the things i missed when shooting Pre-charged was the "TWANG"
fenboy
Get a spring guide and top hat made for it ,that will help with the twang as will a relube with some moly grease
hyflier
Sorry if my comment seemed flippant, but I was just leaving the house when I spotted your post Malksierow. If you can give me the dimensions, I would be happy to make one of each for you, otherwise I think you'll be able to get a kit here https://www.gunspares.co.uk/categories/23960/Airgun-spares/
malkiserow
Thanks for that Hyflier, I looked on their site but there is no top hat and sleeve listed. I would have thought there was an off the shelf kit for a springer with such a long following/history Get a spring guide and top hat made for it ,that will help with the twang as will a relube with some moly grease It was re-greased with new moly but still the same. Underdog
Never tore a 127 down but usually a snugger spring guide be it steel or plastic usually hushes the spring. Just a fraction increase in guide diameter makes a huge difference.
hyflier
I'll try to get some dimensions, I have a lathe here and turning down Nyloil etc takes almost no time at all. If will help, I would be happy to make up a spring guide. I can also recommend ringing Chambers, Hamish is brilliant there and he may know of one which will fit from their list of tuning kits. HANG ON..................... Knibbs have one....... £22.00 http://www.airgunspares.com/store/department/99/AIRGUN-TUNING/ Regards,

malkiserow
Get a PCP I already have a PCP but there is just something about a springer that I always want a good one to hand
