Wildfowling holiday

Hi,

Looking to go on a Wildfowling holiday where I can get to the foreshore. Been on wildfowling holidays before for the Pinks up Scotland but looking to going on the foreshore.

Now this being a bit different this time and going to be taking the wife. Looked into Wigtown before which is near the Galloways forest park so things to do other than fowling and hopefully some restaurants aswell.

Any other ideas? Would like to go to the wash, but not sure if I can keep the wife entertained.

Cheers

Richie, of the two I'd suggest Wigtown would be the best for a mixed holiday.

Can you enlighten us a bit further Big Mat what the wife can do in the height of the winter around the wash ? , as us ole Norfolk boys have led a sheltered life and anything more than a game of bingo we are out of our comfort zone

Skittles?

There is loads she can do while you shoot the wash .

Carrot topping or potato riddling to name two :)

Thanks for bringing me up to date on the entertainment around the flatlands in the winter months .

What with bar skittles , preparing vegetables for your meals , clubbing and getting ( inter coursing ) sounds ideal. :good:

One more question if you don't mind , Where would you recommend staying .....Bridge Hotel ?

You could stay in the bridge hotel but would have to squat as its been closed some time , soon to be demolished for housing I am told

Carrot topping, potato riddling, seal clubbing and hare coursing? Norfolk should have been my preferred destination not Lincolnshire.

Their even worse over the border JDog , young men's entertainment over there of an evening usually involves their sisters :whistling:

The Bridge hotel sounds ideal to me , no need to book in advance , just turn up with your tooth brush. :good:

We pride ourselves in Yarmouth for family entertainment , nothing wrong with that fenboy

I took my GF out for a morning flight last December on the North Norfolk coast. She says it's the coldest she has ever been. It was a bit frosty but not that bad, although she does say that she is keen to come out again.

I think she is starting to regret the decision now. lol

She used to come on shooting holidays in Devon. I think wildfowling might be just a bit too much.

Thanks for all the input I will keep it in mind.

Has she thawed out yet Peneope, it was pretty nippy that morning and its not realy warmed up this year yet. Frost last night and apart from the odd warmer day its been very cool for months. I hope the cold and lack of fowl has not put her off coastal fowling. Let me know if you are up this way again and perhaps I am free and we pick a morning with no full moon and the right tide we could have a bit better luck.

Just about Robert. She is still keen on the idea, so who knows. Now that we have a dog, there will be some incentive for her, apart from being with me that is, obviously.

We had planned to return as we enjoyed our visit to the area, so thank you for the offer.

6 months on the 1st June, so should be ready for the 16/17 season.

Good news. I am sure we can get out at some point. How old is the pup?
