tigger got stichs
hi all had my bsa ultra reg resealed and sent back through the post by xtx, gun is working fine but the the shot count is only 44 before it tails off badly. I'm sure I used to get at least 60+ from a 232bar fill the gun also sounds a lot louder than be for. I haven't got a chrony but is it worth getting it checked in case some thing is a miss? kiffy
i dont chrony my guns either, even though i know i should to make sure i stay legal but i think in your current circumstances i would check the power output as it doesnt sound good

kiffy
is it leaking? out of curiosity, if you leave the gun charged does the air run down on its own? only asking as my new daystate did and its back with them now being repaired
tigger got stichs
no it's holding full charge that's the problem I have a nasty feeling it's way over power the guy at xtx air set the reg to 90bar but said that thay are very fragile and just taking them in and out of a gun can upset the power out put
kiffy
youve got to contact xtx first, but if your that sure its over and it does sound like it your only option for return is taking it to your rfd... if you do post it and in the unlikely event that its opened and checked by anyone other than xtx your in the brown stuff
marnold
How long since it came back from xtx? Was it like this as soon as you got it back or has the problem come on progressively? Darrin's work is usual excellent.
timmytree
You can't make any assumptions about power or efficiency without a chrono. A Combro is about £50, every airgunner should have one and use it regularly. It's cheaper than a criminal record.
psycho
Send it to bowkett for a blueprint It will come back transformed he designed the gun and will take it apart and make it to exact tolerances.. Does not cost that much is respect to the difrance made and comes back with test certificate etc
hyflier
If you're passing my way, I'll chrono test it for you............. I'm 7 miles Cambridge side of Newmarket

Does not cost that much is respect to the difrance made and comes back with test certificate etc He has already said it went to XTX - why would he then send it to John Bowkett? Surely that will void the warranty XTX provides with his work, if indeed the OP is the one who had the work on the rifle carried out in the first place? Underdog
Don't sweat the legalities, a clear paper trail of a genuine mistake. It amazes me how much we play on being convicted of a terrible crime against humanity when statistically we are more likely to harm someone in our cars! It amazes me how much we play on being convicted of a terrible crime against humanity when statistically we are more likely to harm someone in our cars! Problem is that once the authorities get their claws into you they dont let go and the punishments are life changing. Its far better to stay on the right side of the authorities, you can sleep at night then !!. A
tigger got stichs
so if I got pulled up at night whilst lamping by the old bill coz joe public got suspicious and they took and tested the gun at that power output your saying that I would be let off for being in possession of an illegally held unlicensed weapon when the onus is on the owner/user for the gun to remain below 12ftlbs just coz xtx had rebuilt the regulator and sent it back to me to refit. whos to say I couldn't of tampered with it ,he could deny even resealing it! Underdog
Well, the best thing to do then is sell the blow up dolly and get a self contained compression unit all in one. Simples :-)
