First of the season...

Managed go out for a morning stalk on some newely aquired land, some thick woodland with couple of clearances and a few rides running through.

On the ground at 4AM, waiting for the 1st light, and shortly after i started making my way through the dense cover looking for the elusive roebuck. Soon i realised that a difficult task lies ahead of me, as the thickness of the cover and the bone dry floor won't help... Any step i made looked to be noisy as hell, but finally made my way to one of the clearings and decided to wait a bit on the edge, while glassing for deer. Not long after , i noticed some movement on the other side of the clearing, quite a way ahead, and a roe siluette made an appearance. Quickly identified the deer as a cull buck, and knowing that it will be a waste of time trying to stalk closer i set the rifle on the sticks, and with no wind whatsoever, gently pulled the triger... The buck dropped on the spot, and after some walking around trying to find it, my first of the season was in the bag.

You did well to take that one. It has dangerous antlers (for other bucks).
