I sent of my application for a shotgun grant on the 14th May (now 25th) and I haven't yet heard back from Greater Manchester police. robbiep Posted May 26, 2015 Report Share Posted May 26, 2015 For a SGC, having permission doesn't matter. You do not need 'good reason' to have a SGC, or to be a member of a clay shooting club, etc. As such, sending that email is pointless. what you do need is patience ... lots of it. If you haven't heard anything by the end of June, then possibly chase it up. But as Gordon has said, GMP are pretty good compared to most. But they do go through checks, and those do take time.
