I have decided it's time to do my bike licence, I have spent my life around bikes and racing bikes, never wanted one for the road until recently as I have some money and finally purchased my house I think the time is good 😁 my question is!!!!! I did a CBT when I was 16 in 2006for a moped (unsure if I did a theory I can't remember) and was under the imppression they ran out after 2 years? Until I read this

If you held a motorcycle or moped licence before 19 January 2013 then youll keep your existing entitlements and can still ride the same kind of bikes as you did before.

However, if you get a new licence your entitlements may be shown differently.

Youll have to follow the new rules if you want to get higher entitlements - eg ride a larger motorbike.

Can someone give me advice? Do I need to still book a theory for my bike licence and retake a CBT?

I did a cbt when I was 16 which ran out after two years, I then did another cbt two years ago at 28 which has just ran out, i have had a car license since 18 which with the last cbt gives a 50cc license for life without l plates as long as you keep the certificate but to ride anything bigger i need to do another cbt plus a theory test then the mod 1 and mod 2 tests on a 600cc to get a cat a unrestricted license which i am going to be doing soon and am currently contacting different training centres to get some prices.
