Caravanman
The fault which resulted in the recall put me off. Thinking of a Supernova now.
jimmyb79
I have the same gun, albeit its with Winchester having a part replaced due to the recall. I had no problems with it but thought better safe than sorry. IMHO they are cracking guns for the money. I bought it as a bit of a novelty to use when coaching, but after taking it out on the pigeons a few times, it's one of my favourites to shoot. wraivi
I had a waterfowl sxp, and I think they're a great gun. I t was one of my favourites, but px'd it for a BPS. I do miss it sometimes. Many manufacturers have issued a recall at one time or another, the fault is put right and I think Winchester have dealt with it properly. Certainly would not srop me from buying another, great gun for the right money.
WelshMike
I have a 3" chambered one that I bough recently. I have put almost 1000 shells through it with no issues. Great gun for the money. I have just fitted an ATI T2 tactical stock as I found that the gun was just a little short for me but liked it enough to change the stock rather then changing the gun. Caravanman
Jimmyb79, How long has your gun been away for?
jimmyb79
Probably been nearly two weeks so far. I was told to expect it back within four weeks.
Caravanman
So you rate them then? Its between that or a Supernova for my next gun. SXP is much cheaper and its specifications seem great such as being weather proof, but, is it a case of you get what you pay for or will it be a great Corvid buster? Crumpler1991
Does it take long get used to a pump?
patrickstar
No mate I love mine I have sxp which browning have at the moment and a mossberg
jimmyb79
I use mine mainly for pigeons and crows and the odd clay shoot. I have a Maxus and a Miroku o/u but I do love that pump action! Not sure on the supernova, but the SXP has a speed cocking feature where the fore end is sent backwards after a shot meaning a quicker cycle. Really great gun for the money. kennett
I have the 3.5" waterfowl and love it. Use it on the marsh, on pigeons and for general vermin shooting. Took a little bit of getting used to, but now it's second nature and can get 2 off as fast as my o/u
Guest cookoff013
i have a supernova, when i first got it i must have put more than 750shells through it in a day. i would consider the sxp on cost alone. the supernova was cheap because i bought it years ago, £500? i think they are 700 now. £340 buys alot of gun. Caravanman
Does it feel rugged or quite cheap?
jimmyb79
The gun? I don't think it feels cheap. It is all synthetic, and has a similar feel to the much more expensive sx3 semi
