I'm slightly embarrassed to admit I have never seen either of these movies before. I'm watching one tonight and can't decide so...which is the best and why? Cheers all! The Mighty Prawn Posted May 28, 2015 Report Share Posted May 28, 2015 Goodfellas all the way, it's a much bigger character story and also 'inspired' by real people and events Scar face is a classic and will be worthy of a watch but Pacino's accent is reminiscent of Christopher Lambert's Scottish brogue in highlander ie I don't think he's ever met anyone from the area he is portraying. Scully Posted May 28, 2015 Report Share Posted May 28, 2015 Goodfellas without a doubt. Scarface doesn't even come close. Pacino is good, but he overacts in Scarface in my opinion. The only good thing about the film is a very young Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio. Goodfellas is one of the few films where the film is better than the book. One of the best mobster films ever made I reckon; no one does psycho like Joe Pesci. 'How do you mean I'm funny? Funny ha ha? I make you laugh? I'm here to entertain you?
