Thanks - just realised that even after looking at their website for 15 mins last night i still managed to spell Okehampton wrongly. Doh!

Dont worry us locals will for give you lol.

Couple of my mates have bought from him in the past with good results. I have spotted a little .22 on guntrader that he has so may be popping down the road to pay him a visit before long.

Let us know how you get on.

I agree Ladd's is better as an alternative or blue glade fox in Chumleigh is good too. It depends on where the op is staying as there are some good gun shops in the west of Devon.

Part-exed my Rizzini for a Bailkal 16g hammergun - Cliff was very helpful, would happily buy from him again.

Think its going to take a while to get used to it - hit an appalling 10/50 on clays today with it after doing 60/100 (which is good for me) with my Browning which I had only used once before.

Got a fair enough price - probably could have got a bit more selling privately but having been messed about on previous sales I couldn't be bothered. Got a few cartridges as well as the baikal in exchange. Had a look at a couple of other sxs there but just fancied a hammergun.

I realise he will sell it for a reasonable profit with a dealers guarantee that I wouldn't offer if selling privately but for the sake of maybe £100 extra I would have got selling privately I really couldn't be bothered with all the time wasters. Last time I sold a gun I took time off work let someone try it at a clay ground - they didn't turn up and that cost me a days earnings of more than £100.

Don't you mean just popping UP the road?

You've done the business already but just in case you aren't aware, the Sportsman Gun Centre is just 30 seconds from Junction 30 on the M5 on your way home.

Popped into sportsmans on the way back, thought I might as well while stopping for a bog break at exeter services. Have been in there before but have to avert my gaze from all the shiny new guns in case i get tempted.

I spoke to Adrian at sportsmans - very helpful chap. Have also been to sportsmans dorset last year where they kindly lent me a beretta silver pigeon to use for a skeet lesson. only went in for a look around and ended up buying a Winchester SXP Field.
