Ear defender advice

Recommended Posts

Well for ear defenders I'd say 3M Peltor SporTac. Even the Peltor 'dumb' ear defenders are some of the best around.

Ear plugs don't stop bone conductance. To really protect your hearing you need full coverage and no gaps around the cushions if you're wearing a hat.

I use Howard leights , Very good battery life as they turn themselves off if you forget. Mine are a bit tight. but after 40+ years of shooting without them I'm just trying to save what little hearing I've got left. :unhappy:

Not really true that ear defenders give full coverage, you would have to cover a lot more of the back of your head than what the muffs do. All according to my girlfriend who is a head-neck radiologist.
