Gamo CFX Royal

I bought the Gamo CFX Royal, well this gun is as far from royal as it could get, and it is dramatically over priced at £240, however it looks the business but what is it they say!! Looks can be deceiving, and that is just what this gun is deceiving, the fore sight is made of cheap tin type metal and mounted on a plastic shroud that doubles as the housing for the under lever, which also has plastic fittings, this barrel shroud is held onto the barrel by a single screw, a very cheap affair altogether and will obviously fail in no time. Well I loaded this thing up and fired, it almost shook it’s self to bits and the noise it made cleared the whole wood of wildlife, Ah but it needs time to bed in I hear you saying, so after half a box of slugs and recovering from shell shock I gave up on the idea of using this gun it is quite simply horrible a nastier peace of kit I’ve yet to use.

ironhorse, did you not have a look about for any reviews about the rifle before you parted with your hard earnt cash,,,it does sometimes amaze me how some people can spend good money on a gun and not even knowing anything about it

always best to check up on it before buying, do as timmy said , take it back and get ya money back bud, then shop about but for £240 you can certainly get a decent second hand HW

I had checked this rifle out on the net, I also found a YouTube doing a live shoot with this gun at various targets, which was impressive, I had no real reason to doubt the guns credentials until out in the field. I will be returning it tomorrow first thing. I have had a few air rifles over the years my last was the HW77, but that was a good few years ago now, it is only recently I decided to buy an air gun again.

That's more like it!

They are a fairly heavy, agricultural old beast but built solidly and will last for generations with a minimum of care. Just make sure you have a chrono handy when you rebuild it, they can push out impressive amounts of power if you aren't a bit careful
